About Us

Updated May 2026

Olive Field Lane is an independent editorial resource focused on the practical care of garden trees in Germany. The site collects clearly written notes on pruning, crown formation and seasonal maintenance for the fruit and ornamental trees most often grown in domestic gardens and small orchards.

What we cover

The editorial scope is deliberately narrow: the decisions a gardener makes through the year around cutting, shaping and protecting trees. Articles are organised by the question a reader is likely to be asking — when to prune, how to train a young tree, and how to carry trees through winter.

How the content is written

Articles are written in plain English and aim for practical usefulness over breadth. Where general horticultural principles are described, they are kept neutral and are cross-checked against publicly available references such as established horticultural bodies and public research institutes. Where precise figures are uncertain, the text uses general descriptions rather than invented numbers.

Independence

This site is editorial in nature. It does not sell products and does not present commercial offers. Information is provided for general reference and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified arborist or a local horticultural authority, particularly for large, old or potentially hazardous trees.
